MEIRA 2025
a multifunctional umbrella stand

Meira is a versatile umbrella stand designed to serve multiple functions — from a stool to a valet stand or even a shoe rest.
The project stands out at first glance for its shape. Far from the aesthetics of traditional umbrella stands, Meira presents itself as a true piece of furniture, able to fit into various contexts thanks to its essential and geometric lines.
Extending horizontally, it can also be designed in larger dimensions by increasing its length.
From a functional perspective, Meira is a multifunctional piece that welcomes the user, where the role of umbrella stand makes room for other uses. The upper element serves as a side wall for umbrellas, a valet stand for wet or dry garments, and a stool for sitting while removing shoes at the entrance. Shoes can finally be placed on the lower base, which shares space with the umbrellas.
The essential forms, influenced by Scandinavian design, reinterpret the traditional umbrella stand through clean, functional geometries. The project combines classic materials like wood with steel elements, ensuring a balance between structural strength and visual elegance.
Its modular design allows scalability, enabling dimensional variations to suit different spatial needs. With few joints, all mechanical, the structure remains clean and easy to assemble. Additionally, Meira can be produced in various color finishes with consistent materiality, offering aesthetic flexibility and design adaptability.
