Typically placed next to seating, a side table often serves to hold books, magazines, or small objects. To elevate its role, I wanted to make it the protagonist of daily rituals like reading a book on the sofa, by incorporating a small spotlight.
This light source is made ethereal through a thin supporting tube, allowing it to fade into the background. All the elements necessary for powering the LED are fully integrated into the structure of the table itself, which becomes the true focal point of the project.
The innovative element lies in the lighting system, thoughtfully designed without visible cables, allowing the side table to be moved freely. The entire power supply is rechargeable and fully integrated into the table’s form, making it invisible to the eye.
This seamless integration transforms a technical feature into a quiet gesture, where function disappears into form and technology becomes invisible, absorbed by a shape that is both essential and expressive, where function serves experience rather than formality.
