TEMPO 2023
an inclusive kitchen
Tempo is a kitchen used autonomously in a comfortable and safe way even from people with visual disabilities.
From the reconstruction of the state of the art and from the in-depth study of the scientific literature in this regard, kitchen projects tend not to consider the different skills of the user, and the change over time in the skills of the people who use it.
A field of theoretical and applied research is explored to which the designer can contribute by defining a more inclusive kitchen environment, in which users with visual impairments can operate in a comfortable and safe manner.
The proposed work, starting from the reference regulatory and environmental context and from the direct comparison with the user, intends to promote solutions for a market niche that has not been treated so far.
Tempo is part of the thesis of the master’s degree in Product Design at the IUAV University of Venice ("incontrasto: autonomia tra i fornelli per la disabilità visiva". Professors: Alessandra Bosco and Attilio Alberto Bassi).
